I love a good short story. The title grabs your attention. The first line draws you in and the characters look really interesting. Before I know where I am, I find myself at the end of the short story feeling great. Who wouldn’t like a good short story?
However, there are so many different types of short story which can make things a bit confusing, although it means there is probably a short story genre to satisfy everybody. There is the romance short story, the horror short story, the science fiction short story, the mystery short story, the ghost short story, the humour short story, the love short story, the vampire short story and many more.
Even more confusingly, short stories are sometimes split into various subtypes which generally relate to the length of the story. Many short stories are only to be found these days by searching under micro-fiction, flash fiction, postcard fiction, sudden fiction or a variety of other headings.
In an attempt to simplify the process for readers of finding a short story of mine they like among the many, I have set up a site that details most of my Rob Hopcott short stories under categorised headings. It may not be fully up to date but I hope it helps.
Bye for now
Rob
